Above: Gordon Albert Dryden's WWI record from 15 July 1912 to 6 February 1918. The record shows he deserted for 95 days in 1912. But he deserted again from the RCR to join the Royal Navy. In spite of his desertions he must have been a good soldier as he was awarded three separate medals: 1914-1915 Star, British war medal and the Victory medal and did spend from 1 November 1915 to 24 August 1916 in France. I did not get his war record with the Royal Navy. Below: A more complete version of his army record from 15 July 1912 to the end of his Canadian Army Career on 6 February 1918 when he joins the Royal Navy.
