I have sent my sample in and have chosen the 37 marker test and the results are in the table below.

To date I have collected samples for testing from two other Langstaff families, the Andrew Langstaffs of Ottawa and the Langstaffs from the USA who settled originally in York County.
The results show the following:

My problem now is to translate the results from the Graph below:
The Ottawa and Grenville Langstaffs are closely related but using the 37 marker match our most recent common ancestor at 70% level would be about 12 generations back.
The two Grenville Langstaffs are closely related but using the 37 marker match our most recent common ancestor at 90% level would still be about 12 generations back even though our reseach says only we have a common ancestor 4 generations back. I obviuosly could use some help.
The two Ottawa Langstaffs show about the same results (about 12 generations) but according to our genealogy they have a common ancestor back 4 generations.
The Ottawa and Grenville Langstaffs seem closely related and since they both originate in Ireland that would make sense.
The York Co. Langstaff seems to be further back but that is understandable as they originated in England.
