Utica

     Irene Neary, 90, formerly of Conkling Ave. and the Rome Adult Home, passed away March 16, 2000, at the Sunset Nursing Home in Boonville, NY.

     She was born in Ottawa, Canada, on October 5, 1909, and came to the United States as a youngster. She received her education in local schools.

     Irene is survived by her three children; one son and wife, Donald and Marlene Wheeler, of Sauquoit, NY, and two daughters and their husbands, Betty Ann and Frank Hayduk, of Hammond, NY, and Diane and Francis Horstman, of N. Fort Myers, FL; one brother and wife, David and Eloise Bauer, of Sauquoit, NY; one sister-in-law, Sherry Bauer, of New Hartford, NY; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

     Irene was predeceased by two husbands, Earl Wheeler and Thomas Neary; one brother, Louis Bauer; and three sisters, Ruth Emerson, Pearl LaGase and Gladys Petrillo.

     The family would like to express their deep appreciation and special thanks to the dedicated and caring staff of the Rome Adult Home for the care and concern given for many years to Irene and also thanks to the Sunset Nursing Home.

     Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the J.W. Dimbleby Funeral Home, Forty Main St., Whitesboro, and at St. Paul's Church at 11:30 a.m. where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

     Calling hours Monday, 6-9 p.m.⁵
