July 23, 1999, I found on the 1901 census (Roll # T-6468, page 4, line 24) the record of a Joseph Langstaff with a wife Sarah but the birthday now is given as 26 Nov. 1840. This would agree with the 1840 of Ruth Doland, but the date is different. Both he and his wife are listed as C.E. followers. He was now working for the railway as a labourer and in the past year (1900) he earned $530. He was living in a 6 room wood house with 1 outbuilding in Prescott (200 Prince St.). It would seem that his house was located on 5 town lots. The census was taken April 8, 1901.2
