Nellie Hazel Langstaff My great grandmother was a Langstaff - Nellie Hazel Langstaff (1881-1962) and this is the only great-grandparent I have sought connection with. I will explain below. I don't think we are related to the Ontario Langstaffs. Her father was William Langstaff (1855-1945) IA. His father was WIlliam M. Langstaff (1830-1903) who was born in PA and migrated to Charles City, IA His father, John Langstaff (possibly Langstalif) was born in England and migrated to the U.S. My great grandmother remains a vivid person for my family. She was still alive when I was born and she lived with my mother and her family for most of my mother's childhood and until her death. Her sister, Corinne, was alive until I was well into my 20's. Langstaff is not a common name here in the U.S. and as my great-great grandfather had all daughters and only my great grandmother had children, the family connection with others of this family is sparse. However, this is a link that is important to my mother and I as I am the only daughter (4 brothers) of an only daughter (my mother and 4 brothers) of an only daughter (my grandmother) of Nellie who was one of 3 girls. Our connection as women in a family that is otherwise all male - and thereby our connection to the Langstaffs - is an important one to my mother and I. I don't know if our information may be of use to any of this group, but if it would be, it is there.
