The death was registered by a Mrs A Moon in Dec 1890. This may be his mother, see below. He is buried under the same stone as James H. Moon which suggests he is the son of Henry rather than William as suggested below.

Charles Moon was killed along with Lyman Moon and an Edward Thibeault of Tweed when the dynamite that they were packing exploded. The three men were working in the pack house of the Ontario Powder Company. The explosion completely demolished the building and was heard eighteen miles away. According to the Belleville Intelligencer, body parts were found hanging in the trees and only about 100 pounds of remains were found of all three men.

In the 1901 census, Charles and Berthie E. are living on James Street in Tweed. Also listed in the household are: Anna M. Orr, ( b. 14 February 1889) who is reported as a sister, Florence Orr (b. 19 Mar 1894), sister, Effie Orr (b. 20 May 1895), sister, Charlie Orr (b. 8 Dec 1898) brother, Frank Orr, (b. 27 Aug 1884), brother and Johnny Moon, 17 Mar 1881, brother. I have concluded this that Berthie's maiden name is Orr but I have no other proof.
