John Warren was 1848 census, John is not married yet and is living with his parents and it appears he will take over the farm; Roll #M-5909, Augusta Twp., Grenville County, in 1848 at page 233-240, , .³
John Warren married Jane Langstaff, daughter of William Langstaff and Elizabeth Warren, on 2 May 1849, at, Leeds Co., , Canada. July 15, 1999. Visited the Anglican Church Archives in Kingston. There I found in the Parish Register, Vol. 4, for Lamb's Pond, Elizabethtown Twp. the following entry:

#1. page 48 Marriage: John Warren and Jane Langstaff were married by licence on the 2 May, 1849. The Rev. Willian Hodson Gunning performed the ceremony, but listed no witnesses.⁴

The 1851 census has:
John (age 26)
Jane (age 24) living in a log 1.5 story house in Augusta along with their son
William Bemjamin (age 2)
Ruth Warren (age 10, probably John's sister, as her age fits in with the other children's births)).
On the same page directly underneath,in another household one finds Benjamin, age 68 a widower. This is in all probability his father. The family of Benjamin Sr. has:

Joseph, age 20;
Susanna, age 16;
Sarah, age 14;
Thomas, age 6.

The next family is William Warren, age 35, John's older brotherand:

The agricultural part of the census is missing so it impossible to say if the houses were all on a joining lands.

On the 1871 census (Roll # 10,003, page 2, line 10) one finds the entire family born in Ontario, and living on a 50 acre farm (Range or Conc. 3, lot 19 Elizabethtown Twp.). They had a house and a barn and 33 acres developed (10 acres of woodlot). They are listed as having one carriage and one wagon.
He is listed as a mechanic.¹

George Neilson Moffat In 1901 (Roll # T-6468) the census shows him living on lot 32 conc. 8 in Augusta Twp, it looks to be on the northerly outskirts of the town. He is listed as an Irish Methodist and working as a Shoemaker (earned $600 in the past year). He has a four room wood house on 1/8 of an acre of land, just one town lot. He has one outbuilding, most probably his shoeshop.
