George Cruikshank George Cruickshank says, "I finally wrote for the death certificate of your great Aunt Mary (Langstaff) Cruickshank. It shows she died January 1, 1940. The date of Registration is January 2, 1940. She was aged 74 and died a widow, St. Joseph Twp. 'Cruickshanks' was the spelling they show. However, she was buried January 1, 1940, and the family (Raymond Cruickshank) say she died "right after Christmas." So I am putting down in the family tree her date of death as Dec. 30, 1939.

George Cruickshank says, "Her father bought Lot 12 & 13 in Arran Twp., Bruce County in 1853 (he paid down £10 to buy those acreages). The Langstaffs did appear on the 1871 and 1881 Keppel Twp. census but they were on the Arran census in 1861. I guess though they could have moved right after 1861's census was taken and been in Keppel by the year that Mary was born." His letter written Oct. 21, 2004.

The man writing this is probably the son of the George that I have named. on 5 March 1997.²
