Arletta was raised by her aunt Susannah (married John Myers).¹

From the 1901 census, Thomas and his family resided on lot 33, conc. 8 of Augusta Twp (this puts him in the town of North Augusta). He was a merchant and had earned $800 in the past year. He has an 8 room wood house on 12 acres as well as 3 town lots, 2 other dwellings, a store and a warehouse and 3 other stables or outbuildings. It would seem that he was quite prosperous.⁴
Thomas Edward "T.E." Warren died on 6 July 1902, at Buried Sandy Hill Cemetery North Augusta, , Grenville, . His obituary is found on roll #H-1682 of the Miller Collection. It states he ran the general store in North Augusta and died of blood poisoning.⁵
