Aug. 9, 1999 I found in the 1861 census that an Ann and James Langstaff, ages 30 and 22 (i.e. born 1831 and 1839), were living with John and Jane (nee Langstaff) Warren in district 8 of Augusta Twp. As well Jane's brother John had a John Langstaff, age 55, living with him. I thought this was Ann and James father, but he and mother Dorothea are living with Richard and Ann Warren in Elizabethtown Twp. So this must be an Uncle to William and John Langstaff.²
James Langstaff married Margaret Cowlthorp, daughter of Richard Cowlthorp and Helen Glen, before 1865, at from birth of first child Richard, , Grenville, .
