The 1871 census, Roll # C-9935, page 8, line 1, number 25, has a John Langstaff in Kinkardine Village, Bruce Co. He is 42 years old and that fits with our John and as well he is a shoemaker , which John listed as his occupation on the 1851 census He is living on a 1/4 acre town lot in a single house with one barn/stable. He has 1 milk cow and 1 pig and in the last year he grew 40 bu of potatoes. There was no other information listed. His wife is Luticia age 32 born in Ont. and one daughter, Sarah Ann, age 3 also born in Ontario. They are both listed as Church of England.
