John McAfee From the McAfee book on the family of Robert. The booklet states: "John McAfee, came later and lived with this daughter, (Mrs. Steele). He died at the age of 107 years and is burled In Robert's family plot, Coulson s Hill."

According to Avlina M. Faris, a great granddaugher of John McAfee (in herbook written July 1947) John McAfee and Martha McKay were originally from Scotland, but due to a clan disturbance moved to the Northern part of Ireland. Coleraine, County of Antrim. May have stopped on Island Oronsay or Uist (Orosay).

There was an early settler in West Gwillumbury, lot 12 con 8 called John McAfee.

Believe he is found on the 1851 census for King Twp., York Co. living with the Brown family. Rev. Mullin stated the family had a Nancy that married a Mr. Brown and the family history claims the same but there does not seem to be a Cecilia in 1852 but there is a William and a Martha. But John claims to be born in Ireland, not Scotland.
